The Fell Kellostapuli and beautiful snowy trees
During the sunny and frosty weather in February, I hiked couple of times to the Fell Kellostapuli to admire the scenery and snowy trees. The snowy landscape was breathtakingly beautiful. While I walked through paths, I admired the beauty and purity of nature even out loud. That beauty attracted me so much.
The first time I hiked with poor equipment, both food and snowshoes were missing. Luckily, my camera and drone were in the backpack. However, this trip became an adventure, as I met a nice couple with two big white dogs in Varkaankuru hut. I asked about dogs first and then later we had lot of to talk. I told them I was looking for a walking path to the Fell Kellostapuli and they decided to walk on the same route with me. Unfortunately, we could not find the suitable path (snowshoes would have been necessary), but we had time to discuss and then decided to meet again later. I continued my trip alone by the second path towards the Fell Kellostapuli and got to the top of the tree line (where no trees are left) without snowshoes.
Next time I packed my snowshoes and some food with me. This time I found a straight path towards Kellostapuli easily and near the tree line I put my snowshoes on. Now I got to the top of the Fell Kellostapuli without any problems. Although the weather was not windy at the beginning of the trip, there was very windy on the top of Fell. Drone flying was not successful at all, and I had to go to the same place near the tree line where I had been day earlier. There, under the shelter of the wind, I was able to fly drone. Taking videos and pictures was nice, and the heavily snowy trees and plants were incredibly beautiful in the afternoon's sunshine.
Watching the figures of snowy trees, my imagination waked and I saw a wide variety of characters in those (I will put some of these pictures with explanations to this story). I was like in a great art show when I watched and interpreted the characters of the trees. Because the art exhibition was so inspiring, I decided to ask my husband to a next Fell Kellostapuli trip to show him all this beauty.
So, the next day we went to hike the Fell Kellostapuli in the late afternoon and we were up in the Fell at sunset. Again, the snowy trees were stunning, but this time also mystical looking, at least in my opinion. Luckily, I was equipped with thick woolen gloves, where the fingertips can be easily brought out for shooting. Putting all drone equipment together in the frosty and windy weather is hard and fingers freeze fast. Those woolen gloves turned out to be a successful choice, as mostly the hands stayed warm.
I wanted to take more pictures from snowy trees in the dark as well. I had seen amazing snowy trees on the ski route from Lämpökolmonen to the Lake Tunturijärvi. One evening I went snowshoeing on this route. There are challenges to walk in the deep snow with snowshoes, because it is slow and I was a little bit scary to go deep into the dark woods. So, I walked partly of the way along the skiing trail and there I made short trips into the darkness. I was on this trip quite late evening, and it took just couple of hours. But even on this journey, I saw incredibly beautiful works of art in a snow-shining forest. It could be difficult to believe that you can see very well in the dark forest. And I did not feel be alone on this trip either, as I found a lot of animal footprints. Even in darkness you can find life from the forest.
